Meeting is Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at Cabin Coffee 7:00 AM.
This week we will have Sheldon hosting Tyler Gruetzmacher from Barron Co. Soil and Water Conservation Dept. After Tyler's talk, please stick around to help put labels on our dictionaries. I am also hoping that our Rose tickets will be available.
Last week Chris brought in Rachel Thomas Rice, Rice Lake Public Library Dir. and Shelby Friendshuh, Public Services Dir. at RL Library. We got an update on some great activities and services that Rice Lake Library provides to our community as well as the surrounding areas. Some of the things they shared were study rooms available, the Libby App, Outreach services, Printing Services, the Library Locker, Blood Drives (next one scheduled for Jan. 5th), Summer Childrens Nutrition program, the Imagination Library, and their newest project - the Everbright Wall.
Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:
REMINDER - Next Meeting is Wednesday Sept. 23 7:00 AM Harvest Grill
Fall is in the air and activities seem to ramping up for our club. Lots coming up in the next month or so. First, a generous club member purchased a Peace Pole for our club to install in our community. It was fun to see it at our meeting last week, as I don't know if any of us really knew what it was going to look like. It says "May peace prevail on earth" in 4 languages - English, Italian, Spanish and Norwegian. Languages which were selected because of their connection with Cumberland. We are asking the community for input on where to install our peace pole, the current favorite is by the library.
We are preparing for the upcoming Suicide Prevention Walk on 9/26. Currently, we are figuring out a way to make signs to display along the route and hoping to have kids decorate the signs beforehand. Then next will be supporting the Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build. We were able to send out information to the local churches (thanks Emily!) and put information at the food pantry. We are also planning on sharing the information with our local schools. 2 people have reached out for information through our facebook page regarding becoming members - yippee!! Have a great week!
Thanks, Lisa
